Types of Hair Loss and Solutions
Alopecia Areata & Totalis, Universalis
Alopecia means hair loss, the autoimmune system has been lowered and it attacks the hair follicles, causing the hair loss, the follicle is the area the hair grows from within the skin. Specialists do not know why the immune system attacks the follicles. It can happen at any age, male or female, also children.
Alopecia areata usually begins when clumps of hair fall out, resulting in totally smooth, round hairless patches on the scalp. In some cases the hair may become thinner without noticeable patches of baldness, or it may grow and break off, leaving short stubs (called "exclamation point" hair). In rare cases, complete loss of scalp hair and body hair occurs. The hair loss often comes and goes-hair will grow back over several months in one area but will fall out in another area.

Types Of Wig
Lace front /lace capped wigs
are designed so the scalp shows through the fine lace which disappears once it is against the skin, creating a very natural hair line. Combined with a monofilament top and hand tied back, you have an extremely comfortable, secure, natural looking, replacement for your hair. Prices
from £275 in fibre and from £1000 in human hair
Monofilament based wig
are the most breathable, natural looking wigs. The sheer flesh toned top gives the appearance of scalp through the hair. Thus creating “a realistic parting” These are available in both Fibre & Human Hair wigs. Prices are usually from £160 in fibre and £1000 in Human hair
Machine weft wigs
are the less expensive wig, they are usually heavier in weight and are less cool than the monofilament ones, however they are just as fashionable and the fibre is of the same quality. Prices are usually from £125
Hand tied wigs
are the soft lined wigs, extremely light weight and flexible. Prices usually from £500 in fibre
Custom made wigs/partial pieces
A template would be made for you to get the perfect fit, with individual requirements added such as density, parting, crown areas, colours and hair type and length
Human Hair Wigs
The hair can at times look more matt/natural. You can be more individualised, as the hair can be styled.
You have to be realistic, its only going to look as good as you can style it, it will fade when washed and in the sunlight, as they are normally pre-coloured.
Human hair can give more confidence and you can have a natural and elegant look or an informal " just got out of bed look "all in one day! Just like real hair.
The hair needs correct attention and products to help retain the elasticity and lustre of the hair cuticle.
Modacrylic Fibre Wigs
Synthetic Fibre wigs vary in texture as human hair would; these have a memory so when the wig is washed it springs back into the shape it was before it was washed. Fibre retains its shape in the rain. No need for straighteners, rollers and tongs! Very little fade of the colour in the sun. (Unless constantly in the sun)
The downside is any fibre that comes into contact with your clothes will gradually frizz with a dolly type hair look, this is not a fault it occurs when the two materials rub against each other, on jackets, scarves, shirt collars
